Katy loves the Swiss scouts. She keeps saying “my brownies were never this fun. All we ever did was play rounders”. It should be noted that, besides his last-minute injury, Bean enjoyed his camping trip and it was the first time in a looong time that the St-George camping weekend didn’t get rained on :)

Had to be split over 2 days because we got too tired last night…

We did manage to sneak in some shopping, some cocktails 🍷 and a movie 🎦 though.

Would you walk up the hill again? Yes, for gin, lesbians and puppy dogs.

We wanted to go to Les Brasseurs to get the burgers 🍔 and beer 🍻 that we missed out on last night before we picked up Ben from his scout camp. Turns out there was a bike rally in town that closed off most of the roads where we wanted to go. That was a big bust…

Ever adaptable, we went to have some perfectly satisfactory tempura 🍤, calamari and ramen 🍜 (for me) and sushi rolls 🍥 (for Katy).

Even polar bear enjoyed a nice pot of jasmine tea. (Polar bear came along because, as Katy said, the fact that she was having a shit mental health daily didn’t mean he couldn’t have a good time.)

Bean is on his first camping trip with scouts. We are on our own until tomorrow afternoon. What does Katy do? Snuggle under snowman blankie cuddling polar bear… Oy.

First there was the Empire Strips Back, now Ghostbusties :)

Ben wanted to go to the zoo today.

Also, Donald Trump bird!

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge’.

Best protest sign ev4r:

Lime-ginger-fennel spatchcock chicken, bbq pork ribs, sausages and potato-feta salad. Nummay!!!

As a side note: Grill chicken med-heat, breast side down, covered with vent open, until nicely charred, 10 to 15 minutes. Flip; cook 30 minutes more. Flip again; grill until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees in thickest part of breast, 5 minutes more. Let rest 10 minutes.

Can you see how stressed out Pavel is? I don’t know how he can cope with it on a daily basis. My hero!
