I feel like I've gone full circle. <\/p>\n
I'm currently sitting at my “desk”, which is a lab bench at the McIntyre building – the place where I spent waaaayy too much time a few years ago. I'll be working here for the next 3 months or so – I'll have a real office after the holidays when the office space they're renovating on the 6th floor is finished. I'd forgotten just how much of a pain in the ass walking up Drummond is. If anything, this new job will get me back in shape :)<\/p>\n
I've been thrown in the deep end, and now I must swim. I need to survey and plan for the computing needs of a widely diverse group of people for the next 5 years. This will be a challenge. I'm anxious, but at the same time, it'll be fun :) I just need to get comfortable with the work environment. Right now, my bench space is completely barren. I'm working on my own laptop that I brougth from home (I'm buying the work laptop today). I don't have a phone yet, I'm using gmail to email because I don't have my McGill email yet. Basically, it's all up in the air.<\/p>\n
