A good friend said that, and I'm starting to believe it more and more. Don't get me wrong, I love to chat. But I've found out that it can easily lead to confusion, misunderstanding and bruised feelings.
It's amazing the amount of non-verbal clues you get in face-to-face, or even voice-only conversation. Telling the same stupid comment, but with different tones, inflections, or just a grin on your face can totally change the meaning and impact. Now granted, what I'm saying right now isn't news, nor rocket science. It's just that sometimes, the most obvious truths are the most neglected ones.
Like the fat guy in The Simpsons said (and I paraphrase), “There is no emoticon to express how I feel” :D ~Nadia
