My sister is talking to my mom about a friend of hers who recently gave birth. After hearing about pus-filled shrivelled up belly buttons and enough shit and vomit stories to make anybody go green, this fairly confirms what I've known all along: I don't want kids.

That's *so* not the point :) There was not one “birth is painful” story. The conversation was all about what happens *after*, and that's why I don't want kids.
