What's been happening in the last 24 hours

Posted on August 21, 2004 By admin 43 Comments on What's been happening in the last 24 hours

Went to Hurleys for drinks with [info]eniran last night, which hit the spot for both of us, as we both needed to talk. Lots of stuff happening these days, some good, some less. She looked over the gift I'm sending [info]petkatyyazzick and pronounced it good. She also looked over the barwench and pronounced her good (rowr!) Got home, ate pasta goodness and mainly putzed around the apartment and played with the cat.

Got into the office at a decent time – I've actually been really good about coming into the office on time for the last month or so – and got some work done. Went walking with [info]emjayne today, which is always a source of enjoyment. Went shopping for undies, which is the second time in two days I've been in a lingerie store. I think I'm developing a fetish :D

Went to McGill to see a client, which went ok, and then to the McIntyre to see the dean. He wasn't there again today, damnit. That's twice this week I've tried to get in touch with him *pout*. Meh, it's been a good day overall.

I've been in a very good mood recently, as a few of you know. I blame Katy for that :P It's all her fault. She makes me feel good. To exacerbate the situation, she just told me that she's going to confirm her tickets to come over here in October some time next week. I mean, how can I guy maintain a sour disposition when people around him keep giving him reasons to do a happy dance in the office and scare his coworkers silly?

    tee hee…
    weirdo ;-)
glad to hear you're having a good time…

  13. talisker says:
    August 23, 2004 at 2:45 pm

I was trying to keep my funk on. Sadly, it didn't work :D

Do you know you're the second person to call me a weird today? *looks confused* I don't know where you people get those notions…

Yes, I am having a good time these days *blush*

New topic: how was your weekend in Zurich? What's happening with you now? Do you need new ebooks?

  14. raspberrysalmon says:
    August 23, 2004 at 2:53 pm

    “*blush*”, huh???? NICE. *ggg*

weekend was nice, got to see a bit more of the city on saturday, then had dinner with heather and her boyfriend at their place. her parents are from toronto, btw :-)
spent sunday doing practically nothing, and yes, i have run out of e-books, but i don't have a possibility to transfer files from the hospital's computer to mine, so at the moment there's not much use in you sending me more of them…

    “*blush*”, huh???? NICE. *ggg*

Well, I'll fill you in when you're back home. But I am having a good time :)

had dinner with heather and her boyfriend at their place

so no hot lesbian sex? dang.

i don't have a possibility to transfer files from the hospital's computer to mine

you can't mooch a diskette? I can send you some that I know will fit on one diskette.

    How's morale doing?

  16. raspberrysalmon says:
    August 23, 2004 at 3:06 pm

nah, i'd have to buy one, that is, at least 10 diskettes…
    thanks anyway.
but i'm going home on friday, i think i'll be able to survive a few days without books. and maybe i'll actually manage to get started on pharmacology.
    erm.
    MAYBE.

  17. raspberrysalmon says:
    August 23, 2004 at 3:06 pm

    and morale is ok.

  18. talisker says:
    August 23, 2004 at 3:09 pm

you could always print the chapters on the hospital printer :P But I support your desire to start on the pharmaco. Here's a deal: you read a sizeable chapter every day, and I start a weight training regimen :D

  19. talisker says:
    August 23, 2004 at 3:09 pm

    glad to hear it *hug*

  20. raspberrysalmon says:
    August 23, 2004 at 3:12 pm

the difficulty is more in finding a chapter that's small enough to read in one evening :-p

  21. talisker says:
    August 23, 2004 at 3:16 pm

well, you can do half a chapter. The point being you read enough for you to feel you did something good :P

  22. raspberrysalmon says:
    August 23, 2004 at 3:25 pm

    *gggg*
and you'll lift half a weight?

  23. talisker says:
    August 23, 2004 at 3:32 pm

    *TWACK!*

I bought Michel's free-weight set. I'm going to try and do some three times a week.

  24. raspberrysalmon says:
    August 23, 2004 at 3:39 pm

    OUCH!!!
twacking people with weights is NOT, i repeat, NOT a nice thing to do!!!

and i don't know why my last comment was posted twice.

  25. raspberrysalmon says:
    August 23, 2004 at 3:39 pm

15-pounders are the lightest ones I have. You have a bad impression of my if you think I'd hit you with that :P If you must know, I'm using a stuffed koala bear that's on my desk at the moment.

Quote of the day

In the second scroll of Wen the Eternally Surprised a story is written concerning one day when the apprentice Clodpool, in a rebellious mood, approached Wen and spake thusly: "Master, what is the difference between a humanistic, monastic system of belief in which wisdom is sought by means of an apparently nonsensical system of questions and answers, and a lot of mystic gibberish made up on the spur of the moment?" Wen considered this for some time, and at last said: "A fish!" And Clodpool went away, satisfied.
