And I'm moving to that place???

Posted on March 30, 2005 By admin 2 Comments on And I'm moving to that place???

Twelve competitors, in cars and caravans, lined up at the start at a track in Bovingdon in England for the race which quickly becomes a destruction derby as the drivers seek to smash away the unwieldy caravans that slow themdown. The old caravans have already been turned into a shell as everything inside them is hacked out before the race.

This was the fifth running of the caravan race and Buck was determined to improve on last year's race. He only ran for two of the 12 laps with his caravan intact. Then the 36 year old haulage contractor smashed away his caravan and put in fast laps dragging just a trailer around behind him.

He said his strategy for the race was “just put your right foot down and go. But I mean there's garbage, there's trash, there's caravans, there's cars, there's smoke, there's dust, everything in the way — it's like a battlefield.”

The crowd enjoyed the spectacle and were probably pleased that they did not have to clear up the mess afterwards.

Quote of the day

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world *belongs*, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse *me*? This is my glass? I don't *think* so. My glass was full! *And* it was a bigger glass!
