And lo, the 7th seal is opening…

Posted on June 24, 2009 By admin 2 Comments on And lo, the 7th seal is opening…

We have been notified of the first member of staff that has contracted swine flu. The person works in the EBI and was at home when they first recognised symptoms. They will obviously stay at home and away from campus for the duration of their illness. Their close colleagues and contacts in the EBI have been informed of the case.

It’s the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.

pfffffffff, as if. The rest of the email:

We have in any event been reviewing the position in the light of the recent escalation of swine flu to pandemic status and the spread of cases in the UK and more locally. The virus is causing only mild illness in the majority of individuals affected and the up to date advice is to limit transmission by observing good “hand hygiene” and to stay at home if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms.

It’s a take two aspirim and get a doctor’s note in the morning situation.

    It is a happy place.

Quote of the day

"Taxation, gentlemen, is very much like dairy farming. The task is to extract the maximum amount of milk with the minimum of moo. And I am afraid to say that these days all I get is moo."
