Happy Easter, chonk !
The chonk is enjoying the bone off the leg of lamb I roasted for Easter.
Divinum 2023
Another Divinum completed. I volunteered 4 nights out of 6 this year, and it was still just as fun as in previous years. I’m starting to recognize many of the wine producers by face, and that’s a nice touch. Most are a really good bunch who appreciate what we’re there to do, and are always up for some wine-related banter. There are a few grumps, but it’s not too bad.
As always, the classics from Enoteca Capponi did not disappoint. The usual suspects: Gillard, Varone, Bonvin, Tulipe, Ours, Crans. We discovered some very nice Pinot Noir from Salquenen, which is going to be nice, light summer wine. I don’t usually care for Pinot, but these were a surprise. Found a new quaffing wine too.
And as always, there are advantages to being a volunteer on the last shift of closing night…
It’s a dog’s life
The chonk just loves to sit on the balcony, gaze over his domain, think deep thoughts and woof at the occasional delivery van. Now with the sun getting in on the action, he’s going to be a nightmare to get in off the balcony.

When your coworkers comment on the background noise of your work call
Badonkachonk likes to climb up on the sofa and nestle besides me when I’m working from home. It’s cute, but he snores like a chainsaw.
None shall pass
Subtle way the dog tells me I shouldn’t go to work and stay home with him instead.
Deep chonking thoughts
This is the chonk lord’s default morning position. Full belly, empty butt, heavy head, pondering the mysteries of the universe, occasionally growling at the lady with the umbrella coming out of the building next door.
