Need your input – please comment!

As you might or might not know, I'm getting another tattoo done fairly soon. The design is almost final and I just received the latest draft from the guy who's going to be doing my ink.

The design:

There's just one detail that's still bothering me. Please have a look at the image below and tell me which version you prefer: the original one, or the one I modified in photoshop.

The differences are subtle, but they're there.
I added an iris to the eye, thinned out the mouth line
and smoothed out some of the muzzle curves.
I think it gives the overall face a much more
serene look, which is what I'm aiming for.

Your comments are much appreciated :)

I read Playboy for the same reason I read National Geographic. To see the sights I'm never going to visit.

My kitchen smells like paint

Posted on June 12, 2004 By admin

So the first coat of primer went on the walls of the breakfast nook. The upper walls will be fairly straightforward to paint, but the bottom sections I see being a serious pain in the ass. I think it's going to take at least 3 coats, as the walls are textured and the paint isn't covering a lot. Oh well, it's going to look kick ass when it's done :)

damn I'm glad this day is over

Posted on June 12, 2004 By admin 2 Comments on damn I'm glad this day is over

*biiiiig siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*

Finally, I'm home in my kimono with some food in my stomach. I feel like I've been running around all friggin day and got no real work done. I did, but it doesn't feel like it.

Day started off with me waking up late – again – as I'm not sleeping well these days. Too much on my mind. Money will be really tight in the next few weeks, as I have a ton of stuff to pay off and/or buy, so the fuckups the BNC is doing with my account really isn't helping me right now.

Got to work, where the stress test I was running on my dad's new computer failed. Found out it was a simple problem, so that's good news at least. All the major components are working fine, and all the software is installed. Now I just need to get a working mouse and keyboard, and he's all set.

Work day was meh. Got some actual coding work done, which is always nice. I feel like we're finally working towards a product, so that's good news.

I really needed to unwind after work, so I went to have a quick pint with [info]eniran. Man, I know it's Grand Prix weekend and all, but holy jeebus, could there be more people downtown??? It took forever for her to get a damned plate of chicken wings (which really made me jones for some, as I haven't had any in ages – I'll try my hand at making some this weekend – hope I don't burn down my kitchen). After Hurleys, we went to Canadian Tire to pick up some painting supplies I need to repaint my kitchen. Got paint, a roller brush and some tape. (Only to realize when I got home that my sister has my roller handle and paintbrushes. DAMN!)

Finally, I had to stop at the office to pick up my dad's computer. Could you believe it took us 30 fucking minutes just to deal with traffic? Did I mention there's a shitload of drunken, overdressed, stupid people downtown?

Anyway, I'm home now and I'm cooking some food. It's at times like this when I really resent my allergies, as I'd love to just be able to order up a pizza. Sigh, enough bitching for now. Goodnight all.

Talisker is named after a good single malt scotch and, as his namesake, keeps getting better with age.
Strengths: Has boundless memory for useless trivia and song lyrics. Can name every muppet on the muppet show. Also a damn good guy to have around, in general.
Weaknesses: Addiction to coffee and bad puns. Also tends to make typos at the most inopportune moments. Tends to let the dishes pile up to the point of sentience.
Special Skills: Can make computers sing and dance, can read 3 books at the same time and not get confused and can cook up a storm.
Weapons: The 12-gauge pillow of doom

The passing of a legend

Posted on June 10, 2004 By admin 4 Comments on The passing of a legend

Ray Charles, the Grammy-winning crooner who blended gospel and blues in such crowd-pleasers as “What'd I Say” and heartfelt ballads like “Georgia on My Mind,” died Thursday, a spokesman said. He was 73.

Blind by age 7 and an orphan at 15, Charles spent his life shattering any notion of musical boundaries and defying easy definition. A gifted pianist and saxophonist, he dabbled in country, jazz, big band and blues, and put his stamp on it all with a deep, warm voice roughened by heartbreak from a hardscrabble childhood in the segregated South.

I now officially, truly, despise the National Bank of Canada

Posted on June 10, 2004 By admin

Bunch of incompetent fucks. These are people that cannot find their ass with both hands and a map.

They've managed to screw up my loan payments YET AGAIN, and this time my rent check bounced like a superball, making my roommate unhappy and blemishing my credit history.

ahem, can everybody hear me? yes? good.

The National Bank of Canada is run by a bunch of poo-flinging monkeys that can't tell dick from elbow!

thank you, that is all.

Jaysus!

Get an email from my boss yesterday, telling me we have a meeting with a few developers for an upcoming project today at 12:30. I figure ok, nothing too bad.

The fucking thing lasted 4 hours.

FOUR HOURS!!!

Nonstop. My brain is officially fried. For the last hour and a half, I was watching people's lips move, and hearing wonkwonkwonkwonkwonk (sound like Charlie Brown's parents).

I need a drink.

Fun night tonight

Posted on June 9, 2004 By admin 4 Comments on Fun night tonight

Tonight was a fun night, and it really hit the spot. [info]eniran picked me up after work and, after a quick hop at my place to get some pasta sauce goodness, we headed over to her mum's place so I could cook dinner for the two sarcastabitches. Her mum is a blast, I love her :D

Made lasagna and some muffins (so good!), which were all well received (yay!). After dinner, we went to see Shrek 2. It's a GREAT movie. I need to see it again. That movie spoofs everything of note in the last 10 years, from Flashdance to the Little Mermaid. Most excellent. I'm certain that I missed a ton of gags, just because there's so many of them, and they go by so quickly.

Now I'm back home, and I'm going to read a bit before going to bed. Maybe have a muffin… yes, that definitively has potential :D

Quote of the day

As far as I'm aware I'm not specifically banned anywhere in the USA, and am rather depressed about it. Surely some of you guys can do *something?*
