The beaver is a proud and noble animal
Notes from a bemused canuck

The team went to lunch yesterday at Ko-An,a very nice sushi restaurant in Lutry, and then we went to the Alimentarium in Vevey for a Christmas chocolate workshop. The lunch service wasn’t all that fast, but the food was really, really good! Afterwards, we made a Christmas chocolate cottage. It was funny as anything to watch a bunch of adults in silly plastic aprons concentrating completely on trying to work chocolate. Even the workshop facilitator commented to his assistant how quiet everyone was :)

Beauty news for 2015: dyed armpit hair. This trend can be traced back to a Seattle-based stylist, Roxie Hunt, who inadvertently broke a niche corner of the internet after she dyed someone armpits blue to match her blue hair (although it has been a mainstay of alt.girls for years.) After writing about it on her blog, in which she described the act as “direct-action feminism” and provided a how to method, the posting was shared 30,000 shares and bolstered an already bolstered hashtag movement, #dyedpit, which went onto break Instagram and the depilatory ceiling.

Right, stop the internet. The Swedish Chef just won it. No need for anything else. Good night folks.

Last weekend, after a convoluted story involving Bean and money, we decided to sort out the mountain of change in my bedside table bucket. Turns out that we had 98.50 francs in 5, 10 and 20 centime coinsm (for those of you counting, that’s about 700 coins). We wanted to go to the bank to get those changed, but they were closed (as was the post office). I took them to work with me today with the intention of getting it sorted at the post office on campus. Turns out, they only accept rolls of coins. Guess what I did over my lunch break.

There was a proper chippy van in front of Jim’s English Market tonight, omgwtfbbq!!!!1!
The portion is a bit stingy on the chips, but SO GOOOOOOOOD!!
Good news: my liver, kidneys, immune system and blood sugars are fine. Bad news: my cholesterol is all over the place and I’m too fat. Odd news, my doctor wasn’t happy with my immunization records, so gave me a tetanus booster and a hepatitis vaccine on the spot so now my shoulders hurt.
