Psycho-kitty is sick and needs a lot of meds and special handling. She has a feeding tube going directly into her stomach and needs to be syringe-fed every 3 hours. Good news is that she’s feeling a lot better, but it’ll still be like this for the next few weeks. Byron is aware that something’s not right with the spicy nugget, so he’s uber clingy, which I think she kind of likes, even if she’ll never admit it.
She’s been a bit lethargic, vomiting and off her food last weekend so on Monday we took her to the vet just for a quick checkup…. Turns out it might be a serious liver condition. She stayed 2 nights at the vet, and as long as she’s eating on her own (which she was at the vet but wasn’t last night at home), she wouldn’t need a feeding tube. More to come when we get the test results, I guess.
…without actually saying it
After a couple of interviews and a 3-day internship, Ben has officially been offered an apprenticeship at Nestle, to start in August. It’s what he wanted to do, and where he wanted to do it, and I couldn’t be prouder of his achievements. I opened the door, but he walked through it and did the heavy lifting to impress HR and the team he’s doing to be working/studying with.
We’re not exactly sure how, but Bubs managed to rip off a dew claw while on a walk in the Marina. He should be fine, but he’s a bit miserable and not sure about the sock he needs to wear (it’s either a sock or the cone of shame…).
We’ve been wanting to do a tiled table for a while now, for several dog-related reasons. We’re hoping that the tiles and metal railings will prevent him from eating the damn thing, and hopefully help cool him down in the summer heat. We did it with the oldies while they were here over xmas. It almost looks like we knew what we were doing, and I’m super happy with the final result.
My mom is visiting us for a week. The chonk and the cockroach have adopted her.
