Late in starting…
It might be too late to start from the 1st of January, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try and catch up :) It just so happens that I have several new varieties of gin at home to sample!
Gut macrobiome
With all of the talk on the media about the impact of gut microbiome on health, this XKCD comic really hits the spot :)

[recipe] Pan-Roasted Salmon with Soy-Ginger Glaze
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
1 tsp honey
1 tsp Dijon mustard
2 tsp extra-virgin olive oil
4 175g skinless salmon fillets
Freshly ground pepper
Coriander leaves, for garnish
Preheat the oven to 175°C.
In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce and ginger and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the honey and mustard.
Heat the olive oil in a large nonstick ovenproof skillet. Season the salmon with pepper and add it to the skillet, skinned side up. Cook over high heat until golden and crusty, 2 to 3 minutes.
Turn the salmon and spoon the ginger-soy glaze on top. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake the salmon for 5 minutes, or until cooked through.
Using a slotted spatula, transfer the salmon fillets to plates, garnish with the coriander and serve with boiled potatoes or wild rice.
The most important people at Nestle
There is a group of people at the Nestle world HQ that is almost all powerful. These people can access any office, can interrupt any meeting, will see almost all employees twice a day. Everybody knows them. The position held by these people has existed and been continuously filled since the first days of the company, almost 150 years ago.
They are, of course, the coffee trolley ladies.

Happy new year to all my family, friends and random Internet peeps who happen to wander in randomly. 2014 had some things going for it, but I sincerely hope 2015 is a better year.

As a follow up to my previous milk photography post, I give you this series from Russian photographer Andrey Razoomovsky. He gets the model to wear clothing in the color that he is mimicking, in this case white for milk obviously. Once all the shots are taken that he needs, he goes and shoots milk in several different ways. In general he tries to mimic the flow and angle of the models by using different objects and then composites everything together.
