Polar bear in pyjamas

While the title of this post sounds like a really good children’s book, it’s actually how Bean dressed his polar bear last night.

So, so, sooooo true!

This is Bean to a T, usually followed by “that was so cool! I’m so clever, aren’t I ?” An alternative is “I’m alright, no blood.”

Oy.

CATS!

Jenny Parks is a scientific illustrator that also happens to be a shameless nerd, with a penchant for drawing animals, dinosaurs, imaginary creatures… and occasionally, people as cats. Somehow, she found herself with a bit of internet fame with the illustration ‘Doctor Mew’, and has been baffled ever since. With a BFA in illustration from the California College of the Arts, and a graduate degree in Science Illustration from UC Santa Cruz, she now resides in San Francisco as a freelance illustrator, fulfilling her destiny to make a living drawing cute, fuzzy things. She has most recently done variant covers for a few Marvel comics for their Animal Variant series.

Dear PQ, there are more important things to focus on…

Please get your heads out of your asses and focus on things that actually matter, like not having bridges fall down on moving traffic, having doctors available to treat the sick and injured, and getting the economy in a state where you can pay for all of it.

Yours truly,
Common Sense

David Cameron mocked for paying for Facebook friends

Poor old David Cameron. Last week the prime minister was mocked after tweeting a photograph of himself phoning Barack Obama to discuss the crisis in Ukraine. Now it appears the PM has made another social media gaffe – buying friends on Facebook. The Mail on Sunday reports that the Tories have spent thousands of pounds on advertising to encourage Facebook users to “like” Cameron’s page. Marketing experts estimated that the campaign cost about £7,500, and succeeded in boosted Cameron’s “likes” by 47,000 to 127,000, overtaking Nick Clegg’s 80,000 in the process. Labour MP Sheila Gilmore said: “It looks as if David Cameron is buying popularity. There is no end to his ego, paying for fake Facebook friends.”

An oldie for the new elections

First published here, but just as appropriate now (except the PLQ talking head is just as bad). Having said that, even though I can’t vote at the moment, for those who can, please please stop the insanity. Quebec does NOT need another independence referendum. It needs to stop the brain drain, keep talented people, attract and support businesses, shore up its economy and repair its crumbling infrastructure. Stupid language protectionism and isolationism should not be a priority in the face of everything else.
