After a large lunch of brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, stuffing and waaaay too much other foodstuffs, the floor boards are creaking and the invisible duck is quacking up a storm…

3 hours on, giving it a baste and scooping out some of the extra liquid (keeping that for the gravy).
Otherwise, the house is full of he sweet noise of chaos, mayhem and over-stimulation.
What have I done?
The oldies’ computer was dying a horrible, horrible death so we replaced it with a Samsung tablet and I reinstalled the laptop with Ubuntu. What’s worse, they’re now on FACEBOOK!!!

What Bean left for Santa
3 mince pies (one for here and he rest to have as a snack later when he’s hungry), 3 carrots for Rudolph (same logic), a vodka-orange (to keep his vitamin C levels up) and some antacids in case he has a tummy ache.
My child is random. My wife really doesn’t help matters in these cases :-)
A family movie outing.
We went to see Frozen as a family unit. Happily surprised on several fronts. The movie itself was nice and funny. They had a very old school meets new school Disney short, that mixed old fashioned black and white with full colour 3D and was really cool. Best of all though, Bean was super well behaved all throughout the movie, sitting down an chilling with his popcorn and juice :-) These are the times I love my bean.

Katy’s birthday cake this year was a yule log (she asked for it). It was amusingly decorated, but we thought we could improve on it.
Breaking the birthday curse
For the past couple of years, Katy has either been ill on her birthday, or some sort of drama has marred the day. This year, the stars were in alignment and she had a good day. We went shopping, spent lots of money, got her hair cut, saw a movie and went out to a nice dinner. Good day :-)
