Overwhelmed owl!
There’s no way in he’ll that this is a portion for one. Even Katy said she wouldn’t be able to do it. Hummingbird bakery FTW!
The owl is hard at work
The owl and I have been co-opted at work. We are now Mac users. If I’m being honest with myself, it’s a lot better than what I remember it being, from the last time I used it (which was, admittedly, in the late 90s when I was doing my masters). Still, the keyboard quirks take some time to get used to, and the jury is still out on the single-button mouse. Having said that, compared to the monstrosity that is the standard corporate brick..er..laptop, it’s sooo much better!
Land of cheese and chocolate
I went on the Chocolate Train yesterday. It’s a touristy thing, but hey, I’m a tourist :) It goes from Montreux to Gruyeres, visits a demonstration cheese factory and then the old town and castle, then goes to Broc to visit the Maison Cailler chocolate factory. I left the house at 6:45 in the morning and got back home at 7:30 at night. I killed my back carrying my bag and camera, but all in all it was a good day out. The idea was to scope it out to see if this would be a Bean-friendly activity, but I think it’s a bit too much for him and he’d get bored after a while. It was a 4 hour train journey in total, with lots of downtime to explore the city. The chocolate and cheese factories were a bit meh, but the city and the scenery were beautiful. There is also an HR Giger museum in Gruyere. That man was not in his happy place for most of this life.
Bobble was there to keep my company and keep me out of trouble. He entertained the train stewards and even had a hand in driving tee train.

Bobble does dubstep!
In the past, Bobble has shown that he can cut a rug with acid jazz. Now, being older and more streetwise, he’s turned his talons to dubstep!
As a side note, squeee! I got the flash movie player to work locally. No more youtube dependence for me :)

The Bobble that lives in my bag has travelled quite a bit. This is a picture from his latest jaunt, the winter 2011 EMBL council meeting in Heidelberg, Germany.
The lovely lady giving him a hand up is Catherine, the central pillar of the Staff Association without whom everything collapses into chaos and disrepair :)
