Don’t ask me how the conversation got there, but at one point we all got laughing about the weasel from an old Looney Tunes cartoon – to the point where my dad had to hold his chest surgery scar because it was hurting too much to laugh. Then he tried made an impression of it.
Classic.
Our lunchtime conversations tend to be lively, and I like to throw a spanner in the works once in a while. Today was no exception, as we were talking about opera and I mentioned that I wanted Ben to learn about it the same way I did, from a cross dressing rabbit. This ended with us watching Youtube videos around the table :)
Hugleikur Dagsson is an icelandic cartoonist/writer/comedian who was born in 1977 and has since then been breathing air and making jokes. He has published about 20 books, written 3 plays and 1 animated TV show. He also does stand up comedy and the occasional art project. English translations of his cartoons can be found in books such as I hate Dolphins, My Pussy is hungry, Bestsellers and the Popular Hits series.
Artist Eowyn Smith created a map that covers the location of 45 Disney animated movies and 13 Pixar movies. The location was determined first by the location implied by the Disney/Pixar version of the story and then, if that didn’t work out, the original story’s location was used.

Meet the Robinsons: US/Canada. Lewis mentions being from Canada but the tone of the family seems like they are American.
Bambi: Northern US/Canada. Though originally a German story, the collection of animals clearly indicates North American wildlife.

Chicken Little: US. Generally American feel but no specifics given.
Home on the Range: Western US.
