Not a good start of the year for pet health
At the start of the year, cockroach had lipidosis and it took a month of active, intense care to get her through it. Now Byron had a bout of pancreatitis. He’s getting better with meds and a metabolic diet, but while the spirit is willing, the flesh is still weak. His stamina still isn’t up to par, esp when walking in front of a bakery when he’s no longer allowed ham croissants.
Kitten love
Those two…. They have a really sweet relationship, even if they do wind each other up all the time.
As a side note, psycho-kitty is now out of the woods and all better. She had to get shaved because she was completely matted from wearing the onesie for close to a month, but she’s better now and, if anything, is even more of a fusspot than ever.

Emphaty for the sick kitten
Psycho-kitty is sick and needs a lot of meds and special handling. She has a feeding tube going directly into her stomach and needs to be syringe-fed every 3 hours. Good news is that she’s feeling a lot better, but it’ll still be like this for the next few weeks. Byron is aware that something’s not right with the spicy nugget, so he’s uber clingy, which I think she kind of likes, even if she’ll never admit it.

Bubs got hurt
We’re not exactly sure how, but Bubs managed to rip off a dew claw while on a walk in the Marina. He should be fine, but he’s a bit miserable and not sure about the sock he needs to wear (it’s either a sock or the cone of shame…).
Christmas craft project is Byron-approved
We’ve been wanting to do a tiled table for a while now, for several dog-related reasons. We’re hoping that the tiles and metal railings will prevent him from eating the damn thing, and hopefully help cool him down in the summer heat. We did it with the oldies while they were here over xmas. It almost looks like we knew what we were doing, and I’m super happy with the final result.
