Katy and I had some people over for drinks and nibbles. We had work friends, school friends and neighbours over for a little afternoon informal get together that included 2.5l of homemade mulled wine, 1.5l of mulled apple juice, Katy’s homemade mincemeat pies and tons of cheese, veg and dips. All totaled, we were 18 adults and 12 kids. Impressive for our flat.
Then you’re the problem.
Life was good for Freddie until the man caught him flying under the influence. His licence got revoked for 24 months and he’s now earning pocket money as a Christmas display.
Christmas village, done! Christmas tree, done! Christmas booze, done!
We’re celebrating Bean’s birthday and having an early Christmas meal while Nana’s here. We had turkey, ham, stuffed guinea fowl legs, braised red cabbage, brussels, spaetzli, roasted potatoes and gravy.
I’m really happy with the end result . There’s one or two details that need polishing , but that’ll be for next year.
On my way home last night, I did a silly thing and forgot my keys at the office. No big deal.
Today, as we dropped off the car to get its two-year service, Katy left her house keys with the car keys. No big deal.
After taking the bus/train back home, we realised that neither of us had keys to get into the house. Oops.
My sensible plan to work from home today got locked out. So Katy and I had a impromptu date day.
When my mom is here in a couple of weeks, this is the project we’re going to work on – getting something built so that we can display our xmas village in a minimal footprint.
