I’ve been working from home since March 11th… Mixed feelings about the possible re-opening. I think it’s a bit soon, and worry about a 2nd wave, but on the other hand, we’re all going stir crazy.

Testing the great biscuit debate with science!
which biscuit is the best for dunking? We tested chocolate-oats, chocolate digestive, Oreo, traditional butter Shortbread, stroopwaffles and lotus Biscoff biscuits with cold milk, tea and coffee. The concensus winner was that Oreo biscuits are best with milk and lotus biscuits won both hot drinks.
Science, bitches! And as the mythbusters say: “remember kids, the only difference between screwing around and science is writing it down”.
My back says thank youuuuuu
I’ve been using a crappy kitchen chair to sit on while working from home. It’s been killing my back, so I loosened the purse strings and bought an office chair. Ben is so jealous that I got a gamer chair (if only because it was the cheapest option I could get in a hurry). It was only slightly delayed by the viral apocalypse, coming from Germany. It was also a bit of a pig to assemble, but so far has been worth every penny and sweat droplet because it’s super comfy.
My recycling bin has a drinking problem
So I went to dump our recycling. I do it periodically. I *think* the last time I did it was about a month ago, probably before all the covid-19 goodness.
Since then, my recycling bin has consumed 16 bottles of wine, a bottle of gin, a bottle of vodka and a giant tub of instant coffee.
Should I call someone for it?
Mental health walk through the tulips
I went for a walk with Katy earlier today when I realized that I hadn’t left the flat since Saturday. The tulips were in full bloom.
Rocking the old movies
As part of our lockdown entertainment, Katy and I have been binge watching our old movies. This weekend, they included gems like Beetlejuice, Running Man and Robocop. We have Top Gun, the Karate Kid, Beverly Hills Cop and Back to the Future in the lineup this week.

Don’t drink and shave
So, this happened.
Conversation went a bit like this:
“so, last night, I was a bit tipsy and I got fed up with my beard, so I shaved it off, and then I figured I might as well continue upwards.”
I fell out of my chair when the video started, because the last time we Skyped his beard was super bushy, verging on wild, and all over the place :)

The tulips are coming up nicely, but there are still lots of closed blooms still left to open up.
The lake has been really hazy the last few times I’ve been out, but still really peaceful to listen to.
