Woe is the Ericus, starving, unfed, unloved. The treat-giver is eating bread and cheese. Maybe if I look waifish enough, and drool all along his leg, he’ll give me some.

Juno
Today is the day this guy goes home. We had him for two weeks. Hard to imagine that for the first 3 days, he’d bark at me every time he saw me in the morning. Now he’s a giant cuddle bug. Besides from wanting to smell everything all the time and wanting to play with all the dogs, he’s actually a really good boy. He’s super improved on his leash-walking. Never underestimate the power of the treat bag. He still pulls, and if I’m not braced for it, he can drag me around, but the bungee-leash really helps for that.
Edit:
I never actually blogged about the fact that Juno accidentally broke Katy’s finger in a freak leash-pull accident, which subsequently required orthopedic surgery and months of physiotherapy afterwards.
A week with Ericus Ericus
We’ve been hosting Eric since last Tuesday. He’s a big bag of (not-too-smart) love. Like most labs, he’s 49% stomach, 49% bladder and 2% tongue. As usual when we have a dog around, Tolstoy turns into (more of) an asshole.
Going to be a wild ride
So we have Lily and Eric for today and part of tomorrow. Don’t know what’s going to break first: coffee cup, TV or my sanity. It’s been a nonstop manic 30 minutes since Lily arrived, but it would seem to… cautiously… be winding down because both contestants are knackered.
Update: 5h later, we’ve finally achieved peace. Both doggos are snoozing, having completely exhausted themselves this morning. I honestly thought we’d need to have Lily go back to her place, but they’ve settled down. Mad props to Katy the dog whisperer.

Morning walk
Went with Katy on her morning walk with Lilly today. Making me want to have a dog, no fair!
What we’ve been up to in our holidays :)
We’ve been living at Katy’s parents since early June, when we moved out of the house. It’s been “sold” for almost a month, but the buyer’s solicitors have been singularly incompetent, or rather untimely. Apparently, all the paperwork is ready but their solicitor is on holiday, and the replacement person has only been there for 2 days out of 7 and apparently there’s nobody in their secretarial pool to type up the report that the buyers need to get. Oy. If we’re lucky, we can exchange contracts tomorrow and then complete next week. If we’re lucky.
In the meantime, I’ve bought myself a new camera and I’ve been playing with it quite enthusiastically :D
Things we’ve done so far:
1. held a birthday party for Ben’s rabbit
2. Visited the Abbey pumping station
3. Spent the day at Skegness (finally, after 8 years of hearing about it!)
4. Generally tried to keep the Bean and the dog happy
All in all, we’re knackered :)
