Still going after all these years??
The last time I mentioned Garfield minus Garfield, it was back in 2008, when it first came out.
Without the presence of Garfield, the resulting strips consist mostly of Garfield’s owner, Jon Arbuckle, interacting with himself, rather than with his pet cat. The strip’s website characterizes this result as “a journey deep into the mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness and depression in a quiet American suburb.” Garfield creator and artist Jim Davis has commented on the webcomic, stating that he is an occasional reader and finds it “fascinating” and an “inspired thing to do”.
Apparently, Paws, Inc. published its own Garfield Minus Garfield from 2008-2010, and resumed publishing in 2012.

This will appeal to a very limited set of readers, but those that do understand will laugh. I’m reading MS Access files in a Java ETL tool and applying python scripts to perform data wrangling before writing to a postgres database. This shouldn’t work, but it does, and will make my life significantly easier. It’s so ugly, it circles all the way back to elegant.
Star Wars – tel est ton dessin
Phénomène multigénérationnel, «Star Wars» a dépassé depuis longtemps le cadre du cinéma pour devenir une référence universelle. Un mythe, qui a inspiré de nombreux artistes, parmi lesquels les dessinateurs de presse. En cette année 2017 où l’on célèbre les 40 ans de la sortie du premier film de la saga, la Maison du Dessin de Presse à Morges a réuni 80 dessins ayant pour sujet l’univers «Star Wars». De Suisse et d’ailleurs, ils dénotent de la forte influence de la saga sur des thèmes socio-politiques, sans oublier l’épopée du rachat de la série par Disney ni le décès bouleversant de Carrie Fisher (la princesse Leia) en décembre 2016.
L’ouverture et le vernissage de l’exposition coïncident avec la journée de célébration mondiale de «Star Wars», le 4 mai. Que la force soit avec vous et vous guide jusqu’à Morges.
