Tag: I am Canadian
Canadian provinces, explained
You know you’re Canadian when you understand this feeling
Random stuff I keep wanting to post
Lots of stuff I’ve accumulated over time that I’ve always wanted to post but never got around to.
You may live in Canada
If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September through May,
You may live in Canada .
If someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance and they don’t work there, You may live in Canada ..
If you’ve worn shorts and a parka at the same time,
You may live in Canada .
If you’ve had a lengthy telephone conversation With someone who dialed a wrong number, You may live in Canada .
Comment if you have any more :)

Return trip redux
6:08pm. Finally in the plane. Child still alive, for now. It’s a close thing…
6:35pm. We’re taxiing and taking off, finally. Child seems to have calmed down a bit, praise the lord. This leg of the flight is 35 minutes late, but hopefully it should just mean that our 1h40m layover in Toronto is that much shorter.
8:30pm. Quiet-ish flight to Toronto. After the longest connection flight walk EVAR, we’re now sitting two rows from the back of the plane. Don’t really care, we’re close to a loo for the bean.
10:00pm. We still haven’t had a drink or a meal. Bean is wasting away. Seriously, this isn’t cool for the child.
11:15pm. Child fed, but still awake. Chillin now, so maybe sleep is a possibility soon. Tomorrow is going to be a looooooong day.
1:00am. As soon as I went to the toilet, Bean sprawled across both his seat and mine. I stayed up for a while, but in the end I couldn’t really spend the next two hours standing in the aisle so I tried to gently cram myself back into my seat. That didn’t go down well and he started to toss and turn and moan. I undid his seatbelt to see if that would help make him more comfortable. In a way, it did, because he in a series of impressive manoeuvres, he rolled out of his seat and ended up stretched out full-length on the floor.
3:00am (8:00am GMT). Bean is awake but zombiesque. He’s grumpy that it’s morning because he wants it to be dark outside so he can sleep.
8:45am. Landed.
Manic child is manic
We’re waiting in the airport gate and I’m >thiiiiiis< close to killing the child.
Poutine
I’ve had more poutine in the last 2 weeks than I’ve had in the last 2 years! it amuses me to no end that the greasy spoon staple is now a fine dining meal item, to be served up with lobster or foie gras :-)
Ay caramba!
Cigars and booze: $200
Dinner for two: $230
Happy, relaxed Katy: priceless
