I can’t seem to wake up these days. I’m chugging caffeine at work, but to no avail. I sleep ok-ish, but I’m not getting rested. Weird dreams.

I used to have a flatmate in Montreal who had loads of cologne bottles in the bathroom and I used to tease him for it. I have just realised that I have become him.

Back to work
First post-holiday back at work, and I’m sorting through my inbox and various dead-tree format paperwork. Day seems rather… long. Just found out that I missed an email last december informing me that I’m giving a presentation next week, doh! My new glasses are giving me a bit of grief for computer work :( I’m going to call my ophthalmologist about that tomorrow.
For the past 2 weeks, Bean has been getting up at the crack of dawn, full of pep. This morning, seeing as it’s a school day, I had to wake him up at 7:30. This does not bode well for his teenage years.
House is de-decked, just in time.
We spent most of the day unpacking, doing laundry, tidying up and putting away all the Christmas decorations. Nice sunny day. I mentioned to Katy that I missed English deli sandwiches the I could eat on the go. Going to fleur de pain to get some bread, I was reminded that Swiss ones ain’t bad either.
Wine days…
Last full day in Leicester, heading home tomorrow. Bit homesick, miss the cats, looking forward to getting back to a semblance of normality and routine.
Today is a rough day all around. Bean is alternating between whiny and completely psychotic. Katy is having a tired, bad mental health day and I’m just grumpy as fuck. So yeah, good times.

The holidays are almost over and it’s time to get ready to go back home. Katy’s been a star in getting all the crap we got packed, even if we had to buy another hold luggage slot from easyJet. We arrived with 2 suitcases, we’re leaving with 4…
First post of the new year
A new year begins. I’m going to work to make it a good one for my family, my friends and myself.
I’m also going to try and write one post a day – good, bad, funny, inane.
