The Easter bunny hid a bunch of eggs for the child but, according to him, didn’t do a good enough job. So now Bean is going around re-hiding all of them (in the same place, or close enough, according to the easter bunny).

Polar Bear MIA
Great drama averted tonight: polar bear had gone awol! Turned the flat upside down to no avail, and after a round of “I didn’t carry it, did you carry it?” Katy and granddad went to retrace their steps from the walk they had coming back from Bean’s school. Turns out that the very kindly ice cream man they stopped at to get ice cream had perched him on top of the stacked chairs next to his closed up kiosk. We’ll get Bean to draw him a thank you picture.
Beachside zen garden
Had some time on the beach with Bean today and I made a zen garden while Bean was playing. Then he saw what I’d done and promptly destroyed it. There’s a koan in there somewhere, but I’m not enlightened enough to spot it.
Sunny, lazy Sunday afternoon
Sitting on the beach right now, watching Bean making sandcastles, hoping he doesn’t get eaten by a swan, hearing other exasperated parents saying things like don’t throw rocks at the swans, leave that boy’s castle alone, you’re getting on my nerves… Not just me :-)
I keep saying things like she didn’t mean to, stop throwing sand, there’s enough beach for everybody…

Polar bear in pyjamas
While the title of this post sounds like a really good children’s book, it’s actually how Bean dressed his polar bear last night.
So, so, sooooo true!
This is Bean to a T, usually followed by “that was so cool! I’m so clever, aren’t I ?” An alternative is “I’m alright, no blood.”
Oy.
