impromptu game night with the boys

Posted on July 10, 2004 By admin 4 Comments on impromptu game night with the boys

Just came back – it's 2:45 am, I'm dead on my feet.

Had a quick pint with [info]eniran after work. She's a bit bummed, for understandable reasons. (*makes mental note to self to invite her to sushi next week to cheer her up – plus I'm jonesing for dead fish*)

Afterwards, I met up with the boys at POs place for an impromptu game night. Etienne had bought a new game, Risk: Godstorm. I'm starting to rediscover Risk. I'd only played the original years ago, and really didn't like it. I've played Risk 2210 and Risk: LOTR recently though, and the game has evolved in ways I like.

Godstorm is by far the most violent version yet. Not blood and guts violent, but radical strength changes. In one turn, with two cards, I basically wiped PO off the face of the board and ended up going from second to last place to take the win :D Quite fun. It was a long game though. We only started at 10:30 when Sonia got home – she's also a risk fan – and the game took way longer because we were getting used to the new rules and new cards and such.

All in all though, a very nice way to spend an evening.

Night all.

Would I be able to sit/observe one of your game-playing sessions?

Unforgivably poor, considering that I'm Montreal born and bred. But I get by. I just want to observe…always like game-players at play!
