Urgh. Boris has discovered the joy of jumping up on my desk when I'm home. He was really cute this morning, sitting on my keyboard chasing the cursor on my screen. The bad side of this is that I can't really browse and or type with a keyboardful of cat, so I usually dump him on my bed.
These days, he's flexing his kitty muscles and trying to jump on everything, which includes the back of my computer chair. That's always a tad worrisome, as he's not coordinated for beans, and I'm always afraid he's going to misjudge the jump and claw me in the back – where my freshly healing tat is located. So anyway, this morning, he tried to jump on my lap as a prelude to reach the desk. At this point, I'm just wearing my kimono as I just got out of the shower… You can see this one coming. He jumps, the fabric slips from under him, and I wind up with two huge gashes on my hip. Sexay, indeed. Bugger.
don't worry, it only gets better! i've had cat on keyboard, usually when shes been turfed out of my chair so i can 'work'. but there’s also the whole, cat sits on reading material, cat attacks pen while your writing, cat attacks feet while on stair case, cat expects to be carried everywhere, cat tries to jump in bath tub after attacking bubbles, cat kills room chasing after moth, cat tries to jump out of bathroom window while your in the shower, cat actually jumps out of bedroom window (and survived!!), cat mistakes leg for scratching post, and best of all… cat moults :)

Your cat actually jumped out of your window? Scary. That's a concern, actually, as Boris loves to curl up on the window legde in the living room. There's a screen, but I'm just scared it'll give out and he'll fall out :(

oh, she only ever did it the once, now she just walks out of one window, along the window ledge and in through the other one, which is so much more safer (??!?!), so long as they're both open at the same time. it makes me nervous, cuz her width really shouldn't allow her to be able to do that, and my room is 1st floor, so high enough that i wouldn't want to fall out of my window!!!!
if it makes you feel any better cats have exceptionally loose joints which allows for their flexibility and ability to absorb shocks. they're also amazingly resilient. i've seen a few vet operations find unexpected things but still they bounce back!! so i'm sure boris will be fine :)

You say that like its going to change… i seem to remember a certain fat cat aiming for my desk (for the requisite cat-stands- between-you-and- the-computer-screen- in-order-to-get -some-kitty-luvin' and hitting the papers that were only half on the table and doing a full backflip as she fell to the floor. Not to mention the uncountable amounts of times she rolled over on my legs for a belly rub, only to find out how skinny a pair of legs actually are. Her ability to look distraught after such an event was amazing…. Then she would chew all of the tabs off of my file folders to make herself feel better.
idiot cat has been a source of hilarity for pretty much all of her 5 years.
