We all went out for a walk to see the potters at the tulip fest. The cold weather we had recently means that the tulips are a bit behind schedule for the flowering, but it was still a gorgeous day, if only slightly marred by the alternatively whiny and I-want-to-buy-this bean. We took a train to Lausanne to browse a few shops and then go to our favourite brasserie for dinner. Again, very civilised.
For the most part.
Bean has been haranguing us to go grill sausages over a fire on the beach, so that’s what we did today. Honestly, I had much more fun than I expected to. The weather was just right, the setting was beautiful, the lake was super quiet and the sausages tasted just as they should.
Beautiful day on Sunday.
Very tired. Short night. Long day. Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
Meds are changing. This is how I’m looking in the mornings. I can’t concentrate for crap these days.
Now kill the cow.
We last saw the Blue Man Group in 2005 (!). The show still has most of the original material, but has been updated with amusing little bits. Ben had a blast watching it, but he was miffed he didn’t get to throw one of the giant balloons at the end.
Also, remember to not be electronically annoying, not to share state secrets and that drone piloting in the theater is strictly forbidden.
2017 was a hot mess of a year, on so many levels. 2018 will be better, because we’re going to make it so!

When you stop by and casually order 13 sandwiches to go, and it takes 5 minutes to make them.
No problem.
On a sadder note, today was the last day at the NIHS for a colleague who was only here for a 1-year mission. She’s going back to Germany for a couple of months, before her maternity leave kicks in.
