Dinner with the family

Posted on October 9, 2004 By admin

Katy and I are so full we can hardly move. Sooooo good.

After leaving the Hilton, we went to spent the morning at the Museum of Civilization in Hull. It was fun – that museum is always getting new and interesting exhibits. Took lots of pictures – again forthcoming, and again, Katy is in none of them. After wandering the museum for a few hours, we went to see an IMAX movie called Roar: Lions of the Kalahari. I had a few chuckles in that movie, notably one moment involving …sadly, I can't write more as I've been threatened with bodily harm.

We spent a good amount of time wandering around Ottawa also. It's nice to view things through the eyes of someone who's never seen them (ooooh! so pretty!). You get blas when you see things all the time. Wandered around Parliament Hill, Sparks Street Mall, Rideau Canal. Fun, fun, fun.

My mom came and picked us up in Ottawa and we chatted along the ride home, where we proceeded to stuff ourselves with loads and loads of yummy food. There was pig, pie and cheesecake. In a word, GOOD!

We hobbled along after dinner to go see the cabin my folks are building, and on the way back, we had garden tractor rides, teehee!

I'll do my best to get those pictures on line soon, otherwise I have the feeling I shall be on the receiving end of a poke or two.

Quote of the day

The one positive thing you could say about the bread products around him was that they were probably as edible now as they were on the day they were baked. *Forged* was a better term. Dwarf bread was made as a meal of last resort and also as a weapon and a currency. Dwarfs were not, as far as Vimes knew, religious in any way, but the way they thought about bread came close.
