Bean’s been very excited and anxious to go back to school. Very. We met with his teacher(s) this morning and they all seem nice. We also found out that the little girl he sits next to in class lives in our building :)

Buying Swiss home is ‘cheaper than renting’
With the current low interest rates, buying a home in Switzerland is cheaper than renting the equivalent accommodation, a new study from mortgage broker Moneypark says.
The study bases its calculations on an average mortgage of 690,000 francs and a deposit of 270,000 francs, the Blick newspaper reported online on Tuesday.
Assuming a fixed interest rate of 1.5 percent, payments including interest and amortization would come to about 2,615 francs a month.
Yes. Well. That assumes you can find a house for that price around here. The deposit, it should also be noted, was just a hair over the total price we paid for our terrace house in Saffron Walden.

Vacation’s over. Time to get back to reality, the normal routine. We had a great time, better honestly that I had expected. A huge thank you to my family, who hosted the Bean on sleepovers, so that Katy and I could have some date time. A huge thank you to my wifey, who entertained the Bean while I got my shiny new tattoo.
Now it’s time to pay the bills :D
Suuuuuushi
We went to Tokyo Sushi Bar in the old port today, to have lunch with Sara and Em. We had a giant plate of tempura to share, then a beautiful platter of sushi. Bishoku-calibre sushi, with Bishoku-calibre service! Bean had miso soup and a super generous portion of teriyaki chicken and tempura.
When the bill came, we were shocked, happily so. The amount and quality of food in Switzerland would have cost 3 times the price!!
Jerry the well-travelled caterpillar
Bean found Jerry near Montebello and brought him back to Masson. This morning, Jerry came with us to Montreal. He was starting to look a bit forlorn in his plastic jar house, so we released him on a giant tree in front of our bnb.
