Little yellow dog is getting old and is now deaf as a post. She follows my dad around with her eyes all the time. If she sees anything out of place, she’ll bark like a hellhoumd, but an invisible burglar could tap dance playing the bagpipes and rob my parents blind…

I offended someone today!
We went to a nature park today. As part of the tour, you could take a tractor tour where you sit on hay bales and drive from one part of the nature reserve to another. Katy and I were the last people to get on the trailer and we were looking for seats. I’d just started to sit down when this old guy, sitting across from me, says to his family “we’re getting off! Now! I can’t spend the trip (about 10 minutes) looking at that t-shirt.” Then he turns to me and says, “for God’s sake, there are children here. Grow up!”
People were looking a bit bemused by all of this. When we got out after the ride, one family came up to us to see what all the fuss had been about. After telling the story, they laughed and thanked us because him leaving had freed up some space to allow them to come on.
I don’t know why the man had such a big stick wedged so far up his ass. Katy thinks he’s a repressed vegan who strenuously objected to the mention of sausage rolls. In any case, I’m actually tickled pink to have offended someone to that extent, just by being me. Sort of a personal best :D

Bobble rekindles his relationship with the museum
Bobble has always had a special relationship with the museum of civilization. Except it’s not the civilization museum anymore, but the museum of Canadian history.
The Harper government is set to rebrand and refocus the country’s biggest museum into a monument to the history of Canada in the lead-up to celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017.
An announcement is scheduled next week that the Canadian Museum of Civilization will be renamed to focus specifically on Canadian history. The renaming signals a broader mission for the museum beyond its current anthropological focus to one that looks more seriously at Canadian social and political history.
Bobble was quite distraught that the whole 3rd floor gallery is closed until 2017. He doesn’t understand hot it can be made more “Canadian”, as it used to cover the whole development of Canadian history, from the traders to the establishment of New France, the war, and subsequent industrialization. So yeah, colour him confused.
