The tickets went on sale today, and admission is groaning under the load of people trying to go to the website. Of course, the phone lines also melted. It's a madhouse. It took me 20 minutes just to get on the website, and tickets are just flying away. Thing is though, they forgot to mention that it was an AMEX-only presale. Meaning that you MUST pay the tickets with an american express card. Now unfortunately, I don't have one, figuring that MasterCard and Visa were enough for most purposes.
I had 3 kick-ass tickets, and only 8 minutes to find someone with an AMEX card (if you don't buy the tickets in 8 minutes, they go back in the pool of available tickets). My boss doesn't have one, nor do any of my coworkers. My friends don't have any. In a flash, I remembered that my mom has one, so I called her and got the info, with seconds to spare. I got them by the skin of my teeth, but it doesn't matter, cause I have them :D
We're in the middle of parterre, right in front of the stage, row BB.

I was browsing at Future Shop this weekend with Michel, when I ran into this. It's a computer animation clip that they were using to display the LCD screens. It's hilarious as hell.

saucylaur, Sarah and Nathan tonight at my preferred watering hole. I got there a bit early and caught up on some reading. It's so funny, some people look at you weird when you read in a pub. Seriously, considering I've been going to Hurleys for longer than most of those people, I couldn't care less. When I ordered a pint of Bass, I got a warm feeling when the barmaid not only recognized me but told me I was here later than my usual time. Heehee, I'm a regular :D I learned something new too, her name is Dusty. I'm horrible with names, but I have a feeling I'll remember that one. She's cute, too :D
Had a fun evening. Laura and Sarah remind me a lot of the other dynamic duo (a.k.a. eniran and strychnyn), but a bit more tame (though it was a close match at some point). Nathan is a good guy, but the biggest flamer in the known universe :) Had many a laugh, shared some good stories. It really sucks that I've just gotten to know these people and both Sarah and Laura are graduating and moving to the US at the end of the week. It's probably more of a “so long” than a “goodbye”, as I've invited myself to go see them in Boston in the fall. Still, they're a fun bunch and I'm going to miss 'em.
You can never have too many friends.
On that note, I'm off to bed. It's 2AM and I'm an old man, so I'll be feeling this one tomorrow.

Lazy sunday afternoon. I'm finally getting *some* work done, which is good, but I'm bored to tears, which is bad.
I have a pot roast in the oven. I was taught in the old-school slow-cook technique for roasts, so it'll cook away at 275oF for most of the afternoon. With regular basting, the meat literally falls apart under your fork. And my gravy is to die for :) I put half a bottle of a very spicy red wine in the pot, with red onions, carrots, celery and mushrooms. When the roast is done cooking, you simply strain it into a sauce pan and reduce it until you get it nice and thick. The flavours of that thing are heavenly.
So, if anybody wants to come and have some, it'll be served with steamed broccoli, buttered carrots and corn. Give me a shout and come on over :D
